Elizabeth Reaser, an American actor on film, TV and theatre best known for roles such as The Twilight Saga as well as shows like Greys Anatomy or True Detective. A tape with her acting was given to the producers. They also received another tape of her performing MMA. Producers requested that she send an MMA video of her swordfighting. On the next day Jessica sent the video. Jessica was able to gone through the script before filming her first weapon lesson. Jonathan Glassner stated that they were amazed at Jessica's performance in her initial training session. Jessica had never been in an important role prior to the US, as all of her films were shot in Australia. Jessica's enthusiasm for action is evident in her character as she demonstrates mixed martial arts, horseback riding expertise, in addition to her athletic abilities and weapons. She can also perform her stunts in a way that portrays a strong female character. She has studied boxing and muay Thai in Australia and has also been training at a mixed-martial training facility for martial arts. While on set filming Season 4, Jake Stormoen encountered a dog who was roaming about the filming. This dog was actually a stray puppy that was living on a setting. Jessica accepted two of the puppies.
